Two police officers and a civilian were killed by two people who then took their own lives in North Las Vegas, authorities said.
A man and woman fatally shot two police officers who were eating lunch before walking to a nearby Walmart and killing another person. After a shootout with police who responded to the scene, the woman killed her partner and herself in an apparent suicide pact, police said.
Officers Alyn Beck, 42, and Igor Soldo, 32 were fatally shot. One of the officers managed to return fire after the attack began. On June 9, the Clark County coroner identified the bystander killed as 31-year-old Joseph Robert Wilcox of Las Vegas.
During a June 9 press conference, police said Wilcox -- the civilian killed by the shooters -- was shot after he drew a concealed firearm in an attempt to defuse the situation. Police also said they are looking into reports that the shooters were at Cliven Bundy's ranch.
A couple hundred people gathered the evening of June 9 in the parking lot of CiCi's Pizza to hold a vigil for the two officers and innocent bystander killed days before. The community sang and prayed, leaving flowers and messages of support at a makeshift memorial in front of the pizzeria.
